Craftsman Style Homes

A beautiful mix of simplicity and natural materials, Craftsman home plans are incredibly cozy, and often use shingle siding and stone details. Open porches typically include overhanging beams and rafters, and projecting low-pitched gable roofs are very common among Craftsman style. The structural components are often visible, especially around the corners of the home and the gables, which often include decorative trim. The use of a bungalow is very common in this style of home as well.

Modern Contemporary Style Homes

Modern Contemporary style homes are the best of both the modern style and the contemporary look. In a modern style rooms and floor plans are open allowing for an airy feeling. Walls are often white adding to the expansive feeling. Modern interiors generally have bare floors and a simplistic look. Hints of color are used in moderation. Contemporary design can be very eclectic because it is ever changing and borrows pieces and styles from all different eras. The finishes would use a lot of natural elements such as cedar and stone.

Rustic Style Homes

Modern rustic style is an open floor plan, with preserved and exposed natural architectural elements. The color scheme for the most part is very simple with large windows to help bring the outdoors into your living spaces. A perfect style for more scenic areas. The most important feature of the rustic style home is the use of raw wood and stone. From an aesthetical perspective the home will match the outdoor setting surrounding it, making it even more beautiful both inside and out.

Southwestern Style Homes

Southwestern style homes utilize stucco, brick and wood to blend in with the desert landscape. The normal Southwest home design is asymmetrical and typically two stories at the most. Rooms are creatively arranged with the outdoors while keeping the interior cool and dark. A stucco exterior is most common in Southwestern style homes, and both red tile roofing and flat roof styles are both something you will find very common depending on the Spanish or Adobe design of the home.

Euro Cottage Style Homes

Euro Cottage home plans in the United States are similar to the country cottages that line the English countryside. By necessity, the English originals include steep roofs designed to shed rain and snow. Prominent chimneys are evidence of the fireplaces used in the home. Modern Euro Country floor plans offer more carefully-planned and functional layouts without sacrificing the original charm of the cottage style.

Farmhouse Style Homes

In short, the Farmhouse style designs generally bring to mind an old-fashioned sense of living, with plenty of room for a larger, growing family. Using a large footprint makes the Farmhouse design plan best suited for larger sized rural or suburban lots, and the character enables them to blend into most neighborhoods. The floor plan usually includes a porch for outdoor living, second story bedrooms and flexible spaces. Interior layouts varies widely from plan to plan, providing a wide variety of options to accommodate your specific needs.
